| There's
nothing as wonderful as experiencing a day out on
Lake Michigan. That wonderment, however, can
turn into misery quite quickly if you don't come prepared.
Below is a list of some things you may want to bring
with you to help ensure a positive experience.. |
| Fishing
License |
Current and
valid Wisconsin or Illinois fishing license with great
lakes trout and salmon stamp. |
| Proper
Clothing |
Remember,
this is Wisconsin.... It can be cold when you leave
followed by an unbelievable warm-up in the afternoon.
Wear layers of clothing so you'll be comfortable no
matter what mother nature throws at us. It doesn't
hurt to bring a rain suit in case things get a little
wet either. |
| Sun
Screen, Sunglasses and a hat. |
Trust us
when we say that a charter trip isn't the best time
to work on your tan. The sun will get at you from
all angles... overhead and with the lake reflecting
it back up at you. Fair skinned people can go from
ghost white to lobster red faster than most people
can "land" a fish. Sunglasses, preferably
polarized are definitely the fisherman's friend under
the bright Lake Michigan sun. |
| Motion
Sickness Pills |
The motion
of the lake is very different from what most people
are used to. Even if you've been on inland lakes without
a problem, you'll still want to come prepared. Better
safe than seasick green! |
| Camera |
Great to record
fantastic fishing experiences (or to use at a later
date to blackmail your fishing buddy who ignored this
list and wound up looking like a sea-sick lobster) |
| Snacks |
Some nice
light snacks and hydrating liquids are a definite
for a long day on the lake. You may want to overlook
soda and other thick sugary drinks and bring beverages
which will actually refresh you and quench your thirst. |
